Cillian Murphy is back, at  least in manner of speaking, for 28 Years Later, the eagerly anticipated third instalment in Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's post-apocalyptic zombie franchise.

Long before his Oscar winning turn as nuclear physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the lesser known Irish star played bicycle courier Jim in 2002 blockbuster 28 Days Later.

Waking up alone in a London hospital, he discovers humanity been compromised by a rapidly spreading virus capable of turning those infected into the living dead.

After reprising the role for sequel 28 Weeks Later in 2007, Murphy returns for the third and possibly final time - as a shambling, skeletal zombie - in director Boyle's latest 28 Days chapter.

He'll be joined by some significantly fresher faces, among them  Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes.
